Writing

Gabrielle is a recent graduate of the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts (English and Studies in Religion), and her poetry, fiction and journalism have been published in student journals and online magazines. Much of Gabrielle’s poetic work explores the relationships between creativity, community and spirituality, and her poetry often finds its way into her music.

Gabrielle is currently working on a series of poems which reimagines the relationship between women’s bodies and the church through an intersectional feminist lens. Several of these poems have been published in student journals, as have poems about grief and climate change, plus a piece of speculative short fiction. Gabrielle is passionate about creative writing as a collaborative and community-building process, which has led her to work as an editor on two publications and facilitate creative writing workshops.
