About the Event

Solomon Frank receives compositional instructions from a databot in the year 2118 in a humorous dystopian take on the future of art. Gabrielle Cadenhead finds a poetic home in the echoes of tradition while percussionist/drummer and Con ‘Composing Women’ star, Bree van Reyk, seeks ‘polyphonic democracy’ in her sound-painting for vibes and string quartet. Finally, Ben Robinson mobilises some Gen-Z rage in a virtuosic video-score based on Emma González’s passioned speech for gun control. The Con’s live set is complimented with a digital sound-installation where audiences can chill to rich electroacoustic textures.
